Muniyamma

Muniyamma is an Indian reality television personality who rose to prominence through Bigg Boss – The Common Man, the special pre-show introduced to select non-celebrity contestants for Bigg Boss Tamil Season 10. She is also reported to be known by her birth name, Banumathi.

Unlike many contestants entering the season with established careers in television, cinema, modelling or social media, Muniyamma came to the programme from an ordinary background. Her straightforward personality, natural humour and direct, unfiltered way of expressing herself helped her stand out during the Common Man selection process and attracted viewers who appreciated seeing someone from a rural Tamil Nadu background competing for a place on a major television platform.

Muniyamma successfully progressed through the various rounds of Bigg Boss – The Common Man and eventually became one of the contestants selected by the audience to advance to the main show. She was one of three commoners voted into the Bigg Boss Tamil 10 house, alongside Shama and Jason Kaushi.

Her selection represented one of the central ideas behind the Common Man format: giving people without an established entertainment-industry profile an opportunity to compete alongside actors, television personalities, models and social media figures.

Muniyamma officially entered the Bigg Boss Tamil Season 10 house during the grand premiere on 6 September 2026, becoming part of the season’s original contestant line-up.
